Ok, just another of my craaazy adventures.
Today, I dragged a friend (or you can say, a victim) over to pulau ubin- one of the places I had to visit before I leave. This friend of mine is an acturial science student from the uni i'm going to.
I had to lift my heavy and unwilling ass off my bed at 630am, and reached Tanah Merah MRT station at 845am. Took bus 2 to Changi point. (I know, there are other BETTER and faster ways of getting there.)

Boat ride cost 2,50 and takes 20 minutes.

Welcomeee to ubin!

The fastest way to get around Ubin is to rent bicycles. We rented mountain bikes for 10 bucks for the whole day. We also picked up a lock (you gotta lock your bike if you plan to go to chek jawa).
Unfortunately, because I have a huge ass, my seat was a tad bit too small, and now I am suffering from butt aches. My friend had no problem.
We headed to the east side first, towards chek jawa.

View from a viewing tower.

Mangroves, lots and lots of them in pulau ubin.

Chek Jawa was quite a let down, because we went during high tide (we were there around 11am). Low tide is during early morning and evening. That's when you really can see things.

Quarry.
After the east, we went over to the north. Nothing much there, just some camp sites.
We headed back to the jetty area for lunch, then set out again, this time to the west side!
The west site is more challenging. There is this bicycle trail park, which 'got kick'.

Very empty place, with bushes instead of tall trees.

It's a very very nice quiet and HUGE place. The trail is also not easy. We took the blue trail- the easiest. We had to cycle through mud, and got our bikes stuck in the mud. Real dirt biking.
There is also a small 'dirt/stunt bike trail' which my crazy friend and I took. It's not easy! I almost got flung out of my bike a few times. I keep reminding my friend that I have NO INSURANCE, so we have to try to minimize crazy stunts like that.

Our bikes.

Little hut. If anyone really wants adventure in Pulau Ubin, I would highly recommend this route. Skip the east and north routes, and go straight to the bike trail in the west side. You will get a good bum massage, and lots of mud and dirt on your legs. Oh, and this side has no mosquitoes.
We stopped by a resort on the way back (yes, there is a resort!) to *ahem* clean our feet.

Yeeeah. Since there was nobody, we managed to haggle the price down to $15 for 2 people, and we were there for 1 hour. :D The fishes ate up my mud, my sunblock, and my mosquito repellent. I hope they didn't get tummy ache.

The famous drink hut.

Some 7th month thing going on on ubin.
I got home at 6ish, totally shagged, tired, very sun burnt and smelly. My friend somehow still had the energy to see me home, then head over to the gym. Power.
Last week I was hiking at bukit timah with another guy, and I out-hiked him. At the end of the hike, he looked at me and said "you don't pant, you don't sweat, ARE you human?!".
This week it was my turn to ask this crazy guy "are you human?!".
Ok I had loads of fun. And this concludes this post. Next week I'm planning to bring my siblings to do some prawning. I am also planning to do some wake boarding with friends. Hope the weather permits.
